A new benchmark in the 40-foot segment, the BENETEAU Oceanis 42 opens a new chapter for the renowned Oceanis range. The successor to the Oceanis 40.1, this latest generation combines elegance, comfort, performance and outstanding versatility, delivering an exceptional experience both underway and at anchor.

Designed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design for the naval architecture and Nauta Design for the interior and exterior design, the Oceanis 42 features contemporary styling, generous volumes and remarkably fluid circulation throughout the boat.

Designed for both family cruising and longer passages, she offers no fewer than five different layout configurations, allowing owners to tailor the yacht to their individual lifestyle and cruising programme.

A NEW BENCHMARK IN THE 40-FOOT SEGMENT

The Oceanis 42 redefines the modern 40-foot sailing yacht by combining a reassuring and easy-to-handle design with an exceptional focus on comfort and conviviality.

The cockpit is designed as a genuine outdoor living space. Its aft section is available in two configurations: an open version that creates a natural extension of the cockpit towards the sea, and a closed version providing additional seating and greater security while underway.

The helm stations have been carefully designed for intuitive control and excellent ergonomics. Integrated seating and backrests, ergonomic consoles grouping the main controls and an engine throttle directly integrated into the console make manoeuvring simple and natural.

A BRIGHT AND REFINED INTERIOR

Inside, the Oceanis 42 focuses on natural light, generous volumes and high-quality finishes.

The spacious saloon benefits from large openings and hull windows that flood the interior with light while creating a strong connection with the sea. The atmosphere is elegant and contemporary, with sand-coloured oak finishes and three Premium upholstery atmospheres: Ivory, Sunset and Pacific.

A genuine desk positioned opposite the saloon provides a dedicated owner's workspace, while an integrated bookshelf and intelligently designed storage solutions enhance everyday functionality.

FIVE LAYOUTS TO MATCH EVERY CRUISING PROGRAMME

One of the Oceanis 42's key strengths is its outstanding versatility.

Available layouts include:

• 2 cabins & 1 bathroom
• 3 cabins & 1 bathroom
• 3 cabins & 2 bathrooms
• 3 cabins & 3 bathrooms
• 4 cabins & 2 bathrooms – Charter version

Two different interior architectures are also available, including an L-shaped galley and a longitudinal galley with a large working surface.

In the two-cabin version, the owner's cabin features a 160 cm wide bed accessible from both sides, providing excellent comfort for extended cruising.

A GALLEY DESIGNED FOR LIFE AT SEA

Located at the foot of the companionway, the L-shaped galley has been designed with life at sea in mind. Its position provides stability when sailing and keeps the galley directly connected to the cockpit.

With 215 litres of refrigeration capacity, it offers an exceptionally generous cold-storage volume for a yacht in this segment, together with extensive storage, two large sinks and two large bins.

PERFORMANCE AND CONTROL

The Oceanis 42 benefits from a hull and sail plan developed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design.

To further enhance her sailing performance, BENETEAU has increased the sail area. The standard furling mast is 60 cm taller, while both the Classic and Performance masts have been increased by 30 cm. This provides additional power and performance while maintaining excellent accessibility and control.

The result is a highly balanced sailing yacht combining performance, comfort and ease of handling.

A CONNECTED SAILING YACHT

The Oceanis 42 can be equipped with Seanapps, allowing owners to monitor key onboard systems directly from their smartphone, including battery charge, fuel and water levels and maintenance planning.

This connected technology makes boat management easier and allows owners to spend more time enjoying their yacht and the sea.
